5g and nb iot

Communication in 5G, the fifth generation cell phone mobile communication 5g and nb iotstandard, also known as the fifth generation search mobile communication technology. b-IoT (Narrowband Internet of Things, NB-IoT) has become an important branch of the Internet of Everything. Many people don't understand the relationship between 5G and NB-IOT. Today, let's take a look at the relationship between 5G and NB-IOT.

The development of 5G technology brings by no means only faster network speed, but also makes the interconnection network of intelligent system of everything possible for us, and NB-IoT is the prelude and foundation of 5G commercialization, so the evolution process of NB-IoT has more importance, such as social support for multicast, continuous mobility, new power hierarchy, etc. As long as the infrastructure construction such as NB-IOT a complete, 5G has NB-IoT technology brings vitality to the innovative teaching application management in the field of IoT research, and brings innovation to many problem areas such as remote meter reading, security alarm, smart manhole cover, smart street light and so on.

The "three brothers" of 5G era

5G has three standards, namely LTE (licensed channel), LTE-U (unlicensed channel) and NB-IoT (licensed channel).

NB-Iot is also licensed. the biggest feature of Nb-iot is that the transmission distance reaches an amazing 10 km, which can cover a small county. And it can carry multiple terminals, one base station can carry more than 200,000 terminals. This means that managing a manhole cover and parking fees is easy and cheap. Even if the construction cost of a base station is 2 million RMB, it can be managed within a radius of 10 km. nb-iot technology brings life to innovative applications in the field of IoT, bringing innovation to many fields such as remote meter reading, security alarm, smart manhole cover, smart street light, etc.

The evolution of NB-IoT is very important, such as supporting multicast, continuous mobility and new power levels, which can be achieved by 5G as long as the infrastructure of NB-IoT is perfect.

Current trends of 5G progress

The country has also started 5G technology for trials earlier. The domestic 5G trials are divided into two different phases, one from January 2016 to the end of 2018, which is for enterprise technology; from 2019 to 2020, which is for real product development for students until commercialization in China.

In the first phase, which is divided into three development stages, the 5G Promotion Group completed an IT-based experiment from January to September 2016. China is currently in the second phase of the world, to conduct research based on a unified national test work specification, a unified spectrum, and a unified platform to conduct the test. In that phase, the country has built the largest 5G test network with global economy in Huairou, Beijing, China, with a total of 30 base stations, and six major equipment manufacturers around the world can participate in clinical trials.

The issue of 5g frequencies has also progressed in the country. in June 2017, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) publicly solicited comments on its website for 5g GE spectrum. One of the company's Hershey Semiconductor companies said it is developing a Kirin processor that will support 5g networks and is expected to be available in 2019. the first version of the 5g chip, called r10, is expected to be available in 2019, but r16 will not become a true 5g standard until 2020.

According to the schedule of the international standards organizations 3GPP and ITU (International Telecommunication Union), the first official version of the 5G standard, r15, will be available in June 2018. r16 will be completed by the end of 2019 and will be more complete than r15. This will also be the final version.

Before 2020, the large-scale data application of 5G, everyone is not hopeful that no equipment design manufacturers will be carried out to think that 5G can develop rapid layout down. Even if the relevant technical standards research is progressing at a fabulous pace, the freeze period of June to September standards are just beginning to take off, the next step needs to establish a base station, compatibility mechanism (the future of a certain for, ZTE must have mutual compatibility), there is still a long time.

NB-IoT technology five application scenarios

Nb-iot network brings scenario applications including smart parking, smart firefighting, smart water, smart street lights, shared bicycles and smart home appliances.

NB-IoT smart meter reading, which used to read meters once a month, can now read meters once every half hour, which not only saves a lot of manpower and material resources, but also solves the problem of pipeline leaks that cannot be found in time with the big data generated from 48 meter readings a day.

Smart city parking solution design using NB-IOT technology, there are geomagnetic sensors under the parking space, can be parking space information can be collected back in real time, there are three major advantages: 1, the vehicle detector can be reported directly to the operator wireless communication network, no gateway, the overall economic cost (equipment production costs, deployment of enterprise costs and maintenance of social costs) down; 2, easy to deploy, vehicle detector plug and play In this regard, the roadside parking control system mainly includes geomagnetic module (built-in NB-IOT module), using geomagnetic space detector to analyze and collect the parking space occupancy learning state aspect, parking time management service platform needs to generate billing data according to its own parking hours and billing rules as well as automatically.

Intelligent street lights use NB-IOT technology to transform traditional high-pressure sodium lamps into LED street lights, reducing power consumption by 50-70%. Shenzhen streetlights generate 150-170 million RMB in electricity costs each year, and the transformation to LED streetlights has resulted in significant cost savings. During the transformation process, the NB-IOT module is connected to achieve more accurate single light control and control the brightness according to different time periods, and secondly, to improve the lighting rate.

Shared bicycles use nb-iot technology. Recently, United Telecom Ofo requested to release nb-iot smart lock. Compared with 2g locks, nb-iot smart locks greatly reduce the time delay from 25 seconds to less than 5 seconds, greatly improving the user experience. In terms of power consumption, batteries last up to three months and need to be replaced regularly or a generator installed on the bike, affecting the user's electrical performance. The new yellow sedan can work continuously for more than two years without recharging, not only saving costs but also reducing the operation and maintenance burden.

The networking rate for smart appliances is low because WIFI connections are not strong and gateways have to be configured. Only 40% of devices are connected in the first year, dropping to 10% in the second year. Smart home devices with built-in B-IoT chips are always online without configuring a route or gateway. Software operation on the cell phone allows remote control of every home appliance with NB-IoT technology chip.

But it's incredibly sluggish for NASA. The space agency utilizes a private network called ESnet, short for Energy Science Network, which has exhibited cross-country data transfers of 91 gigabits per second, the fastest of its kind ever recorded, while the rest of us send data through the public internet.

Anchor carrier: What is it?

In NB-IoT, an anchor carrier is one where the user equipment (UE) assumes that NPSS/NSSS/NPBCH/SIB-NB are transmitted. Non-Anchor Carrier: In the context of the NB-IoT, a carrier where the UE does not anticipate the transmission of NPSS/NSSS/NPBCH/SIB-NB. All unicast transmissions use it.
